Last Saturday, July 9th, we visited Bodega Familia Deicas, one of the main wineries in our country, which is a family venture with a long tradition in Uruguay.
The story began as Establecimiento Juanicó, until in the year 2000, the family decided to separate their projects and start independently with Bodega Familia Deicas, embarking on a path of constant innovation that continues to this day.
At the moment, three generations are working together, something very typical of family wineries in Uruguay. The greatest challenge they have, and have had, is to achieve innovation without losing traditions.
During our visit, we toured their vineyard, winery, and impressive underground cellar, built in stone by the Jesuits in 1745, declared a historical monument.
Afterwards, we enjoyed an exquisite gourmet lunch specially prepared for us, accompanied by a carefully selection of wines that paired perfectly.
A day of complete enjoyment with the best company, what else could we ask for?
Thanks a lot to the entire team at Bodega Familia Deicas for welcoming us and taking care of every detail of our visit, in special to Andrés, our guide, and to all our explorers who joined us with their wonderful energy as usual.
